Somali Child Right Coalition alongside with Somali Peace Line conducted in Mogadishu, an Advocacy Meeting for civil society Budget Increment on Child Protection, Education and Health sector for Somali Children. The meeting was attended by different representatives from civil society organizations working on child rights and child protection.
The main objective of this workshop was to build the consensus of civil society to advocate investing child rights and engaging the government institutions including ministry of education, health and others to give priorities in their budget allocation to ensue better service for the children and filling the gaps exists in quality service delivery for children.
Key thematic areas were discussed during the meeting including the role of civil society, government institutions and donors for the realization of child protection and child rights as well investing children. On the conclusion of the meeting, participants agreed the need to engage with the line Ministries, Parliament sub committees and media to lobby for investing child rights and ensuring that government institutions give priorities to child issues during the annual budget preparation and allocations.
